Waiting game

Not much to update on in this update, which is a good thing at this point!

I'm 32 weeks today (Sept 14), and Oscar continues to grow and keep busy. He tends to be most active in the evenings when I'm sitting and relaxing, and seems to be moving all over the place. The other day he seemed completely sideways, so I don't think he's settled into any one position yet. We're continuing our regular check ups with the midwives, but we have no other appointments planned right now. We've been told that given his growth and my fluid levels, there is a good chance Oscar may be born close to his due date (Nov 9). As with any baby, the longer he can spend "inside" the better, so we're hoping this turns out to be the case. We have Oscar's birth and care plan as prepared as it can be, and last week we met with our amazing doula and birth photographer (Morag Hastings of apple blossom families). Morag will be there at the birth to help support us, and to document Oscar's arrival. I'm grateful that she will be there to help preserve what will undoubtedly be some precious memories.

Speaking of precious memories, Emma has arrived home from Italy with a suitcase full of medals from the dragonboat competition. Her team did extremely well; we are very proud of both the results and the effort that was made to achieve them! We've all been enjoying some gorgeous fall sunshine, with Alice maximizing her remaining time in the water park this year (she tries to go almost every day). We're enjoying all sorts of family outings; it's fun to take Oscar along too :)

As things are getting closer I find I'm reflecting more on all the possibilities of what may come. Some days I'm a little more sad, and other days excited or even impatient, but I'm trying to remember it will all unfold as it should. The support of friends and family near and far, and all the amazing people we have met along the way, gives us peace and comfort.

We'll keep you all posted,

Love Jill, Peter, Emma, Alice and Oscar
